1. be taken aback 吃驚

【例】I was taken aback by his behavior. 他的行為使我吃驚。

2. take a seat 就坐

【例】She took the seat and began to pray. 她坐下后開始祈禱。

3. take a shower 淋浴，洗澡

【例】After a long day of toil, taking a hot shower is comfortable.辛苦了一天后，沖個熱水澡是很舒服的。

4. take aim 瞄準，設立目標

【例】Take aim and strive to achieve it. 設立目標并努力去實現它。

5. take away 拿走，減去;奪去

【例】Take away the litter after touring in the scenic spot. 在景點旅游后要把垃圾帶走。

6. take ... by surprise 出奇制勝

【例】His appearance at the meeting took me by surprise. 他在會議上現身，讓我很吃驚。

7. take one’s place 取代;就坐

【例】The male students lost the game, the female students took their place. 男生在游戲中輸了，女生坐了他們的位子。

8. take care of ... 當心，注意;照顧;提防;謹慎;處理，對付;負責

【例】Take good care of yourself. 照顧好自己。

9. take office 就職，上任

【例】Making an oath, the President took office. 宣誓后，總統就職。

10. take ... for 把……當作

【例】In his unconscious state, he took me for his mother. 無意識的狀態下，他把我當成了他媽。

11. take off 脫去，除去;離開;起飛;模仿;起程;致死;復制，作副本;減弱

【例】Take off your coat after entering the room. 進屋以后，脫去外套。

12. take one’s temperature 量體溫

【例】The baby had a fever, the anxious mother took his temperature every half an hour. 嬰兒發燒了，焦慮的媽媽每隔半小時給他量一次體溫。

13. take part in... 參與，參加

【例】Please take an active part in communal life. 請積極參加集體生活。

14. take it easy 別著急，慢慢來

【例】Baby, take it easy. 孩子，慢慢來。

15. take place = happen 發生，舉行

【例】A bizzare thing took place in the sparsely populated village. 這個人口稀少的村莊發生了一件奇怪的事情。

16. take the place of... 代替……

【例】Nobody could take the place of his wife in his heart. 誰也取代不了妻子在他心中的位置。

17. take pride in... 以……為榮，對……驕傲

【例】We take pride in being a Chinese. 作為一個中國人，我很驕傲。

“take”詞組較多，詞義較雜，而且不同的詞組有詞義上的重復，大家在學習和應用時，結合例句，注意區分。有些詞組的詞義表面意思相同，但有細微差別，需要大家在學習和應用時多加體會。
