任何時候學習單詞都應該有區分、有重點地學習。而且考研英語大綱對于不同的2016考研英語詞匯往往有不同的要求，比如有的詞只要知其義，有的詞則要求掌握其搭配和用法，考生要有針對性的復習。

★ mist

n.薄霧，靄

【例】She saw his face through a mist of tears.她淚眼朦朧地望著他的臉。

【同義替換】fog

★ elegant

a.優雅的，端莊的

【例】The princess has acute intellect and elegant manners.公主才思敏捷，舉止優雅。

【例1】The professor asked me to elaborate on my proposal.教授讓我詳細說明我的提議。

【例2】The guests amassed in the kitchen to see the host cut the elaborate cake.客人們聚在廚房里看主人切那個制作精美的蛋糕。

【構詞】e-(出)+labor(勞動)+-ate(做)→辛苦勞動做出來的→精心制作的

【同義替換】exquisite, delicate; expound, specify, dwell

【派生】elaborately ad.精巧地;苦心經營地 elaboration n.苦心經營，精巧;詳細闡述

【真題】Russians have a deep love for their own language and carry large chunks of memorized poetry in their heads, while Italian politicians tend to elaborate speech that would seem old-fashioned to most English-speakers.俄羅斯人深深熱愛自己的語言，在腦子里記下了大段的詩歌。而意大利的政客們往往精心準備演講，這對大多數英語國家的人來說似乎不合時宜。

【例2】Your story approximates to the facts we already know.你所說的與我們已經了解的事實很接近。

【構詞】ap-+proxim(接近)+-ate→接近

【同義替換】approach

【派生】approximately a.大約，近似地 approximation n.接近;近似值

【真題】Still, Jefferson freed Hemings’s children—though not Hemings herself or his approximately 150 other slaves.雖然Hemings本人及其他約150名奴隸沒有得到自由，杰弗遜還是給了Hemings的孩子們自由。
