1963年生于吉林省吉林市。
1981年9月至1985年7月東北師范大學物理系學習,
1988年9月至1993年7月在中國科學院長春物理研究所攻讀碩士、博士學位,獲理學博士學位。
1993年7月至1995年6月南開大學物理系博士后。
工作經歷
1985年7月至1988年9月東北電力學院基礎部物理教研室助教,
1995年6月至今在北方交通大學(現北京交通大學)工作。
1996年10月至1997年4月任理學院物理系主任。
1997年4月至1998年9月任理學院光電子技術研究所副所長。
1998年9月至2001年2月任理學院副院長。
2001年2月至2003年9月任理學院院長。
2003年9月至2004年10月任研究生院常務副院長、研究生工作部部長,校學位辦主任。
2005年9月至2011年8月任北京交通大學副校長,研究生院院長。

科研項目
主要從事發光、顯示材料與微鈉材料與器件的研究工作,相關領域主持完成“973”和“863”課題各1項,國家自然科學杰出青年基金項目1項,面上項目4項,在研主持“973”二級子課題項目一項、國防基礎研究課題二項、北京市科學技術委員會三項,2005年以來,獲2009年教育部自然科學一等獎 固態陰極射線發光及相關發光材料; 發表論文200余篇,被SCI網絡版收錄152篇,在SCI網絡版中被他引161次;國內學術會議上做邀請報告7次,申請發明專利7項(獲得授權4項),得到了國際、國內通行的認可和好評。
